Peering Policy – AS1100 (Nuday Networks Inc.)
1. Overview
Nuday Networks Inc. (AS1100) operates a neutral colocation and IP transit network in the Greater Toronto Area. We maintain a selective but open peering policy to improve performance, reduce latency, and optimize routing efficiency for our customers.
2. Peering Policy Type
Selective Peering
Peering is evaluated on a case-by-case basis based on technical and operational alignment.
3. Requirements
To qualify for peering, networks should generally meet the following:
- Operate a publicly registered ASN
- Maintain a stable BGP network with proper routing policies
- Have a valid and maintained IRR (RADb, RIPE, etc.) and/or RPKI records
- Provide accurate PeeringDB information
- Maintain 24/7 NOC contact availability
- Announce consistent and non-transient routing prefixes
- Minimum traffic levels (preferred but not mandatory)
4. Peering Locations
We are open to peering at the following locations:
- Toronto IX (e.g., TorIX)
- Cologix (151 Front St W)
- Other GTA data centers (case-by-case)
Private interconnects are also supported where mutually beneficial.
5. Technical Requirements
- BGP-4 only
- IPv4 and IPv6 supported
- MD5 authentication recommended
- Maximum prefix limits must be configured
- Only customer and owned prefixes should be advertised
- No default routes accepted
- Proper filtering (IRR/RPKI-based) required
6. Traffic & Routing Policy
- Cold-potato routing preferred (handoff at closest interconnect)
- Balanced traffic ratios preferred but not strictly enforced
- No transit via peering sessions
- No route leaking or third-party announcements
7. Communities & Routing Control
We support standard BGP communities for:
- Traffic engineering (case-by-case)
- Blackholing (if enabled)
- Local preference control (on request)
Details available upon request.
8. Service Levels
Peering is provided on a best-effort basis with no SLA guarantees.
However, we maintain high network availability and responsive NOC support.
